Take a look at the cover of this latest Business Week magazine. What’s wrong? If you’re Johnson and Johnson, it’s not really the way you want to make the cover of the magazine, but that’s pretty obvious. And not where I was going with the question.
The small amount of copy on the cover cites 50 recalls in 15 months for Johnson and Johnson. It then asks if “The Family Company” can be trusted. Ouch (pun intended). The Family Company is S.C. Johnson NOT Johnson and Johnson. They spend money promoting that tag line and one of the top business magazines in the world can’t remember which company it belongs to. Makes you wonder how helpful it is to the public.
