Bob Dudley, the U.S. Managing Director for BP, made his FIRST visit to the Gulf Coast yesterday. He was stunned at what he saw. Ya think!! How could the Managing Director of BP not visit this site for close to 50 days after the disaster? Hard to say really. But if you think about BP’s business, I doubt Mr. Dudley gets out much to visit much of anything. If you get out of the habit of spending time in the real world your company serves, you can forget how … assuming you ever knew how.
It should not take a disaster to get you out of your offices to visit with your customers and see what is going on … really … in the world you serve.
