A year ago we published a paper on marketing in a down economy. We identified 11 key tactics. I am sharing them in this blog over the next few weeks, but if you want them all at once you can download the paper free.
Tactic number three is to “Exploit a competitor’s weakness.” Again, not rocket science, but then nothing about marketing needs to be rocket science. (In truth I wrote a book about that.) In this tough economy, take a honest and critical look at your competitor’s sales practices and business operations. Find a weakness (or several) there. Since they are in the same situation you are in, there will certainly be some easily identifiable (and possibly hauntingly similar) weaknesses to choose from. Exploit those weaknesses … now. Do it before they try the same tactic on you.
